Got out at 6:30 AM to the Field of Dreams, and it was still hot as hell. Managed to tough it out for 3 hours+. Digging is like digging in cement; sometimes it can take 20 minutes to recover a deep target. I only dug a handful of targets that I thought had at least a 50% change of being silver. Fortunately, one of them was, a 1925 merc, which I guess is being hit by the fertilizer that everything else at this place is.
Nice finds, as always. I just realized your blog had new entries, I had my pointer set to an old entry, so of course it always sent me there. Saw your comment on new batteries for Etrac (about a year old entry) since my original battery now only makes it 30 minutes on a charge. I am going to buy rechargeables and put them in the 6-pak holder that came with the Etrac. Last year i found all my silver with the NOX (only 15, so small sample size). This year all have been with the Etrac (about the same sample size). I use them both, condition-specific. Had been tempted to look at Deus but cooling to that, for same reasons you stated. Glad you are still out there finding shiny.
